چکیده

Abstract Background PROTEIN PHOSPHATASE 2A (PP2A) expression is crucial for the symbiotic association between plants and various microbes, knowledge on these processes important sustainable agriculture. Here we tested hypothesis that PP2A regulatory subunits, especially B’φ B’θ, are involved in signalling mycorrhizal fungi or plant-growth promoting bacteria. Results Treatment of tomato ( Solanum lycopersicum) with plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) Azospirillum brasilense Pseudomonas simiae indicated a role B’θ subunit responses to PGPR. Arbuscular influenced transcript levels soil-grown canonical arbuscular mycorrhizae. In roots, transcripts were scarce under all conditions at lower level than other transcripts. transformed 10-fold enhanced expression, mycorrhization frequency was decreased vermiculite-grown plants. Furthermore, high related abscisic acid gibberellic known be growth mycorrhization. overexpressor showed less vigorous growth, although fruits normal size, number seeds per fruit reduced by 60% compared original cultivar. Conclusions Expression gene roots strongly beneficial microbes. Analysis established cultivars substantiated function development addition

Regulatory B Subunits of Protein Phosphatase 2A Are Involved in Site-specific Regulation of Tau Protein Phosphorylation

Overexpression of amyloid precursor protein with the Swedish mutation causes abnormal hyperphosphorylation of the microtubule-associated protein tau. Hyperphosphorylated isoforms of tau are major components of neurofibrillary tangles, which are histopathological hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease. Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), a major tau protein phosphatase, consists of a structural A subunit, ...

Binding specificity of protein phosphatase 2A core enzyme for regulatory B subunits and T antigens.

The core enzyme of protein phosphatase 2A is composed of a regulatory subunit A and a catalytic subunit C. It is controlled by three types of regulatory B subunits (B, B', and B") and by tumor (T) antigens, which are unrelated by sequence but bind to overlapping regions on the A subunit. To find out whether the different B subunits and T antigens bind to identical or distinct amino acids of the...

Antagonistic Regulation of Flowering Time through Distinct Regulatory Subunits of Protein Phosphatase 2A

Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) consists of three types of subunits: a catalytic (C), a scaffolding (A), and a regulatory (B) subunit. In Arabidopsis thaliana and other organisms the regulatory B subunits are divided into at least three non-related groups, B55, B' and B″. Flowering time in plants mutated in B55 or B' genes were investigated in this work. The PP2A-b55α and PP2A-b55β (knockout) lin...

Protein Phosphatase 2A in the Regulatory Network Underlying Biotic Stress Resistance in Plants

Biotic stress factors pose a major threat to plant health and can significantly deteriorate plant productivity by impairing the physiological functions of the plant. To combat the wide range of pathogens and insect herbivores, plants deploy converging signaling pathways, where counteracting activities of protein kinases and phosphatases form a basic mechanism for determining appropriate defensi...
